Howdy and welcome
.
I’m Brandon Chesnutt and I have big ideas for Metro Detroit.
My day job is currently with Identity Marketing & Public Relations, a communications agency. (Note: the views or opinions expressed on this blog are not that of my employer and are mine alone.)
Outside the office, I’m working to help bring Metro Detroit’s social media and tech community together. I’ve found that this region is home to many talented, passionate and fun people. The rest of the world just needs to hear about it.
I’m currently one of the principal event organizers for Detroit Tweetups and TechKaraoke Detroit. I’m also the co-organizer and marketing strategist behind Brand Camp University – Personal Branding 2.0 Conference and a member of the Marketing and Membership Committee of Fusion Detroit, a non-profit young professional organization started to combat Metro Detroit’s brain drain and showcase the region as a great place to live, work and play.
My latest project is iDetroit, a group comprised of local marketers, entrepreneurs and social media and tech professionals. We focuses on hosting conferences, workshops and events aimed specifically at Metro Detroit’s social media and tech audience. If you haven’t heard about us yet, you will.
I’m a 2006 honors graduate of Oakland University, where I majored in communication and minored in political science. I’m currently attending Walsh College of Accountancy and Business Administration for my MBA.
Random fun trivia: I was born with six fingers (really), I’m an awesome Rock Band frontman (so I’m told), I love three-piece suits and I auditioned at The Juiliard School in New York City because I really wanted to be an actor after high school (obviously… that worked out).

But that’s enough about me, let’s talk about you….
